Preparation
The log undergoes gentle conditioning through steam treatment and water soaking, softening the fibers to ensure flawless cuts. End sealing prevents cracking, while bark stripping reveals the spectacular grain patterns hidden within.
Cutting
Using precision rotary cutting or artisanal slicing techniques-including flat slicing, quarter slicing, and half-round slicing-our skilled craftsmen transform the log into ultra-thin veneers with a consistent thickness of 0.5mm to 0.6mm.
Drying & Grading
The veneers are kiln dried to achieve the ideal moisture balance, then trimmed to size and hand-selected by quality-from Premium Grade to Master Grade-based on grain intensity, figure complexity, and natural character.
Splicing & Matching
To achieve a harmonious masterpiece, only the most visually striking sections of each veneer are chosen. These premium portions are then meticulously spliced and seamlessly joined using advanced joining techniques. Depending on your design vision, we offer bookmatch, slip match, sketch face, diamond match, or radial match arrangements. Professional-grade tape or a precision veneer stitcher secures the invisible seams during assembly.
Backing & Finishing
For superior stability, we apply non-woven fabric backing to enhance the tolerance. Finally, the surface is sanded to perfection, polished to a radiant luster, and finished with premium lacquer, natural oil, or a matte or high-gloss coating to enhance the depth and brilliance of the burl.
